Cabo Outfit Diaries

Hi guys! I was back in Cabo for two weeks to celebrate the New Year, and wanted to share what I worse while I was there. It was so much fun taking time to relax, unwind, and prep for the crazy next few months with my family and friends! A large group (11 of us) went to Esperanza Resort- which I have been going to since I was 3 years old… oh those were the days, lol!!

Normally when I go to Cabo, I pack 3 cute outfits, a couple of swim suits, and the rest is all comfy clothes. I always dress up when I go out or travel, but Cabo is the one place where I rarely wear a stitch of makeup, style my hair, or put something besides sweats on. So on the rare occasion that I get dressed up, I always go for something beachy and casual, except this time, ha! Because we were with a bunch of people, we went out a lot for day outings and late dinners, so I was forced to put nicer clothes on (poor me, right?), just kidding! Don’t let the sunglasses and ponytail fool you though- I was still lazy with the makeup and hair!

Sadly, I did not get to capture shots of all my outfits. By the time we left the pool/beach and were dressed for dinner, it was already dark out… and I might have run late a few times! But I’ll stop babbling now- here are the outfits that I wore while I was in Cabo!

New Year’s Eve:

This sequin jacket is ah-maz-ing and sparkles every time the light hits it! The fit is tailored, but my favorite part about this standout piece is the satin-like lining on the inside, so it does not itch or snag onto your other clothes. I changed into a simple, black mini-slip dress later on (the same dress I wore under the third outfit), with this jacket on top since I was burning up after dinner. Although most likely it is not 85 degrees in late December where y’all are, so I think this black denim accentuates the fabulousness of this jacket!

A dress is the easiest way to look like you tried, when really there was no thought behind styling an outfit since it’s all one piece! Velvet has definitely been a recurring trend for a while now, and I am a huge fan! The softest fabric ever + wrinkle proof + super flattering…  need I say more?

For this dinner outfit, I wore this silky slip styled romper and palm printed chunky heels. This might be one of my favorite belts I have ever owned, as it is so unique but still goes with so may outfits! It can dress up anything from a white & denim combo to a little black dress or romper.

I did a separate blog post earlier on in my trip about this star mini dress! I love the sheer star + body-con combo, and got so many questions asking me where it was from. This dress was so cute, it even made up for the saltwater infused ponytail, the lack of black heels I forgot to pack, and the not so there makeup. (The solid black dress underneath the sheer slip was what I wore with the sparkly sequin jacket from above later on New Year’s Eve.)

Starry Eyed

I hope y’all are all having a great start to 2018! My obsession for little black dresses continues in this star print dress, as I am absolutely in love with the sheer star + body-con combo! I thought it was the perfect flirty outfit to ring in the New Year. Bonus: you get so much value out of this $45 purchase, as the sheer star overlay is separate from the black slip underneath. I can definitely see this myself restyling the sheer dress over a tank and shorts, or the slip with a belt and jacket. And for $45, this is unreal quality! (I am wearing a size XS.)

Laced + Frayed

Outfit of the day… pairing lacy denim with this satin top and heels. These frayed hem, dark gray washed jeans from Mother are my favorites right now. The lace details gives any outfit that little touch of something extra!

Happy New Year y’all! I posted this outfit on my Instagram ( @kt.the.blondie ) when I was back in Arkansas visiting family over the holidays, and I got so many questions about where this cute printed set is from. I am absolutely head over heels for this crop top + pant set, especially since you can style each as separates or together! I had the best time playing dress up with this babe, ( @_sparnold ), while shooting for one of my favorite stores in town- Scarlet. I have been shopping at this clothing store for years now… ever since I could even fit into women’s sizes, haha! So if you are ever in the Little Rock area, be sure to stop by their boutique or website for the most fashionable finds, and use my discount code above for 15% off your purchases!

I hope y’all all had a Merry Christmas filled with lots of happiness, yummy food, and gift wrap! I flew into Arkansas to celebrate the holidays with the family, and was reminded of how much I love spending Christmas in the South! We go ALL OUT! I mean, I’m even matching these decorations on the gate. Ha, just kidding! This was absolutely a coincidence, but my new Deux Lux crossbody bag did happen to match perfectly with the gold ornaments. If you are looking for a sturdy, compact accessory to take with you on the go, this bag does it all. I love how unique, but still versatile this metallic piece is. I can wear this bag with almost anything, and throw my phone and keys in it when running out the door (seriously running because I never can get ready on time)!

Make sure to check out Deux Lux’s new line, as it is ah-maz-ing! I love all of the metallic colors that are available now, and they have even more to choose from at You can shop the rest of my look, by clicking the image links above. I absolutely am in love with this blazer dress/romper trend- mine is from Zara- but I am also linking many similar options above!

Hope y’all are recovering faster than I am from the craziness of the holidays… especially from the lack of sleep and surplus of food comas!

Christmas is less than one week away! What? This month has flown byyy! We all have those times when something slips our minds, especially during these hectic holiday celebrations. I don’t know about you, but every year I get that sinking feeling in my stomach when I realize 3 days before Christmas that I forgot to get gifts for a few of my friends/loved ones. Cue the crazy shopping frenzy, searching online for anything that will arrive in time before the 25th, or even worse- having to go to the mall- just days before Christmas. Ugh! Well, if someone slipped your mind this year, I am here to save you with a little last minute gift guide, that will arrive before it’s time to open presents!

Shop My Look: Skirt $14 (similar here & here)

Bi-polar weather + don’t know what to wear = denim. I feel like there’s been a trend on this blog lately… distressed denim anyone? Last week, I was looking around in my closet for a denim skirt to wear and I couldn’t find one. Me, seriously? The girl that possibly wears a piece of denim about everyday of life did not own a classic denim skirt! I have always been a fan of SheIn’s denim, so when this skirt arrived in the mail the other day I couldn’t wait to style it for y’all! You can shop the skirt I am wearing here. If they are out of your size, here are two super similar options (only difference is distressing details) available here & here.

Why I haven’t gotten a denim skirt in the past is because all the ones I tried were either too short when I bent over, too long (I’m only 5’4″!), or gapped at the waist. Annoying, non-model body probs! 😂 I was so so thrilled when I tried this SheIn skirt on because it was a little longer than most, but still had that edgy, distressed hem to elongate the legs! It also didn’t gap at the waist or slide up when bending over. Pretty perfect if you ask me.

As always- even in my sponsored posts- I will never give a biased opinion for any brand or product. But I have to tell y’all- this skirt’s quality and fit really is ahh-maz-ing! My only recommendation is that if you are in between sizes- size down as it does fit a little on the bigger side. (I am wearing a size S).

How often do you wear denim? Since it’s always pretty warm out in LA, this jacket from Romwe is my go-to. I throw this denim piece over just about anything, since I am obsessed with the relaxed feel it gives to any outfit. These black aviators and leather boots added edginess to my tattered tee dress, while the oversized jacket complimented the effortlessly casual combo.

Romwe has been killing the Insta-style game lately, and of course I couldn’t resist another outfit from them! The distressed details and fitted look of this dress are so versatile, as I often throw faux leather leggings or tights under it. And this slouchy jacket has the cutest angel wing embroidery and an adjustable hood, and when attached reads “catch me if you can” on the back… seriously so sassy and very Victoria’s Secret chic. You can steal my favorite denim jacket and tee dress for under $26 each at Romwe!

Tell them I sent ya! 😉
