A Maldives Excursion

Dear Fashionistas,

I have been to the Maldives once before and have been planning my return ever since I left, haha. Since I spend about six months of the year traveling outside of the United States, when I get an opportunity to pick a destination and a free week to go, I definitely use it! I didn’t even hesitate when deciding where to go next, the Maldives is just my favorite destination for a week off.

Hotel

Both times I have stayed at the Four Seasons at Landaa Giraavaru. I don’t think there is a more luxurious place on this earth. A friend and I rented the royal villa, which was located on the tip of the island. You leave reality for a bit after waking up a few feet away from the most gorgeous beach on earth. It was a perfect getaway for relaxing. The room provided 2 private pools, beachfront access, kitchen, open living and dining pavilion, and three bedrooms and full bathrooms. I never wanted that clear blue water to leave my sight, so most of our days were spent relaxing on our own property. However we did get out to the resort beach to compete in a few jet ski races.

Activities

Water- Jet skis, tubing, water jet packs, kayaking, and water skiing are all offered complimentary on Blu Beach at the Four Seasons Resort. My favorites were definitely the jet skis since you could take them to explore other islands!

Snorkeling is another option if you really want to see Maldives. We rented a yacht to take our group to see various coral reefs. I really can not put into words how beautiful this experience was. Imagine you are in the movie Ariel!

Land- I never mind a massage. Especially if it takes place in a villa over the ocean. As you relax and unwind while listening to the sea, you look below and have just a piece of glass separating you from the sea life beneath.

This isn’t exactly a set activity, but I really enjoyed having my own bike and being able to explore the island. All these beautiful gardens and forests get completely overshadowed by the water next door.

Restaurants

Sea restaurant-  The name proceeds this 5-star dining experience held completely under water. Take a speed boat to the Anantara Kihavah resort for a special deep-sea treat. The menu is preset but you have a few options to choose from. Just the scenic views alone were enough to get me there, but the food is excellent too. Have the potato crusted sea bream for me- to dieeee for. Is that bad to eat fish as a thousand of them happen to be swimming right in front of you?

Blu- This beachside restaurant was less than a three-minute bike ride from our villa. This was our favorite place to go out for a quick bite while getting a magnificent view of the white sand bar and water villas. Don’t order the Pizza Caprese unless you want to end up eating the entire thing as I did. Twice.

I hope you get to experience this extraordinary place. And if you do, don’t forget to pack me!

Love,

KT💋
